This seminar will cover how legal teams work with California Probate Code sections 1980 to 2033 (the California Conservatorship Jurisdiction Act) addressing interstate transfers of conservatorships and conservatee abduction. Additionally, this seminar will cover how best to use the very specific requirements of the code provisions to protect both your client and their assets. Additionally, this presentation will cover details regarding determining when jurisdictional intricacies can be used to maximize outcomes and establish the most advantageous Court to monitor care and other logistical realities. A brief discussion of any new updates will be included.
Presenter Megan Lisa Jones has both a J.D. and an L.L.M. in tax from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Undergraduate work was completed at Pepperdine University. She focuses on the areas of estate planning, estate administration and probate trust and estate litigation. Ms. Jones also advises on NMTC and LIHTC, along with related issues. Prior to Joining Oldman Cooley, Ms. Jones worked for securities firms, did tax work at Ernst & Young, and also spent time with the California Attorney General.
