RECORDS MANAGEMENT:
HOW INFORMATION GOVERNANCE DRIVES LITIGATION

Presented by
Jeffrey B. Lewis, Esq.

This seminar will explore the cornerstones of Information Governance and how they form an architectural foundation to support litigation.  We will discuss best practices that can aid in litigation discovery and methods to comply with new privacy laws and regulations. We will also evaluate ways to leverage an organization’s records and record custodians during litigation.

Jeffrey B. Lewis was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and attended California Western School of Law in San Diego.  He is a licensed attorney in the state of California.  Lewis has over 20 years of experience working in the records and information management field.  His work experience includes law firms such as Fenwick & West, Hanson Bridgett and Sheppard Mullin.  Lewis is currently the Records Compliance Manager for Farmers Insurance in Woodland Hills, California.  In this role, he navigates cross-functional collaboration within the Office of the General Counsel, including Corporate Litigation, Claims Legal Services, and Claims Litigation. Lewis is an active member of ARMA International, a professional association focused on informational governance, including records and information management and related industry practitioners and vendors.  He currently serves as the President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter for ARMA.  Lewis is also an active member of ISACA, a global association for development of information security knowledge and earned his Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification in 2015.  Most recently, Lewis and the Information Governance team at Farmers Insurance was honored with the highest award for Records Management and Information Governance, “Excellence for an Organization,” by ARMA International.
