Presenter: Laura Kokinda, PhD
Dr. Kokinda currently serves the City of Los Angeles Personnel Department as the Director of Psychology at the Medical Services Division. She oversees a team of psychologists who perform pre-employment evaluations for city job applicants, as well as fitness for duty evaluations and workplace violence risk assessment for city employees, and provides consultation on other mental health related matters. Prior to 2015 when she joined the City, Dr. Kokinda worked in various mental health treatment settings, including private practice, as a Clinical Director for a mental health crisis bed unit in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as a Crisis Clinician at the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center and in various other clinical roles at community mental health clinics. She obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2010 at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University with an emphasis in individual and systems therapy.
